Positivity through fashion: Ipsilon

Words are powerful change-makers, and in today’s’ turbulent times, the world needs positivity and love, now more than ever. The importance of encouraging words is often underestimated, invaluable in their own way. Ipsilon is a Parisian streetwear brand carrying an uplifting spirit, empowering people to feel more confident in who they are. Born out of Buddhist beliefs and a fondness for fashion, their products that include sweatshirts, t-shirts, socks, travel tags and swimsuits are made from 100% organic cotton (GOTS certified) and ECONYL®( regenerated nylon).

“’Infinitive love and gratitude’ is highly meaningful for me; it expresses and teaches love for other people, hence the idea of #thisTEEcanCHANGEyourLIFE by respecting and loving those people around us.”

Ipsilon’s philosophy believes in the deep value of every human being, in respect and in spreading joy around the world. Their products include inspiring statements emblazoned on them, to carry messages of positivity and gratitude, while eschewing fast fashion trends.

“Fast fashion has been the driving force behind some of the high street’s most successful brands in the past decade. With this system, clothes are designed to be made and sold cheaply, then used for a short time before being replaced. There is no “story” behind these clothes, no respect for the people who create them. Only an economic Goal. The biggest challenge of the fashion industry today is to respect people, planet and creativity through transparency, traceability and openness.”

Ipsilon also supports organizations including UNICEF, WWF and ICAN (International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons) through their work.

“For me, fashion itself is a reflection of social, economic, political and cultural changes. It expresses modernity, symbolising the spirit of the times. So we need to use fashion to change the world and make it a better place to live.”
